The Waking Danu Project

Danu: the oldest of the Celtic Goddesses. Inspiration, Intellect, Change, and Transcendence; Universal Wisdom, Divine Knowledge.
Picture
The Waking Danu Project is the story of a woman's experience growing up in a society that is built on the misogyny of the patriarchy. Told through dream interpretation and Jungian archetypes, this is a theatrical call to action for, women and men, to dismantle the old ways and bring forth a new way of equitable living.

"The Waking Danu Project' had it's first public showing on 5/30/14 at Acting Out New York, in Ithaca. It was performed as a bare-bones staged reading, to test the waters of it's potential impact, and to offer audiences a chance to offer suggestions.

I am honored to say that the conversations the play brought out extended through the play, and afterwards, were beyond what I hoped for, and proved to me the incredibly powerful impact theatre can have.

Waking: Danu was asleep when patriarchy took over Ireland.
Danu: The Great Goddess Archetype that I identify with.
Project: This is ongoing. The battle is not over.
